The following is a schedule of the daily activities that all children will participate in at O.U.R. Camp. Each group has a set daily schedule that they will follow. The schedule allows for 30 minutes at each station.
9:30 – 10:00
Entry All campers enter camp, put their belongings away in the appropriate spots, and put their lunch in the appropriate container. During this time, the campers are allowed to have free time with the indoor play equipment until it is time to begin the daily schedule. When this time is over, each camper is responsible for putting away the equipment they used during this time.
10:00 – 10:15 Music/Mousercise
Staff leads music and Mousercise time. All campers are expected to participate in music and Mousercise. Mousercise is a time to do exercises to warm up for the day. When Mousercise is complete, all students sit down to begin music time. Campers pick songs to sing during music time, staff leads the songs, everyone sings along.
Campers break up into their groups, and follow their own daily schedule.
Outdoor Play
Students play on outdoor equipment utilizing large and small motor skills. Students will practice working cooperatively with their peers to complete tasks. Staff supervises and engages the students in activities during this time.
Indoor Play
Campers will utilize dramatic play equipment, and will work cooperatively with other campers to practice sharing camp equipment. Staff supervises and engages the campers in activities during this time.
Art
Campers will practice using fine and gross motor skills to complete assigned art assignments for the day. Staff will demonstrate, give instruction for the project, and assist in the completion of the project.
Language
Campers will be engaged in reading books, discussions about the books, and other topics. Campers may be asked to color a picture or write some sentences to explain what has been discussed to check for understanding.
Big Wheels
Campers will utilize gross and fine motor skills, and will work cooperatively with other campers to complete tasks. Staff supervises and engages campers in activities during this time.
Water Play
Students will be given an opportunity to participate in some sort of water activity depending on the weather situation. These activities may include, but will not be limited to such things as: sprinkler, bubbles, shaving cream, and water buckets. Staff will supervise and engage students in activities during this time. On days when the weather is not permitting, or on days the counselors feel is appropriate, campers will participate in sand box or sensory activities, depending upon the choice of the staff to practice handling sensory issues. This activity is intended to help campers with tactile issues, handle and become more comfortable with different types of textures.
Snack
Campers are moved to the designated snack area for their group, where staff serves the daily snack. Groups eat as their schedule allows. Campers are expected to remain seated with the group until all campers have finished their snack.
Lunch
All campers eat lunch from 11:45-12:15. Campers will eat their lunch at their assigned areas with their staff members. All campers will be expected to remain seated with their group throughout the lunchtime.
1:45 – 2:00 Special Person
All groups will reassemble as a whole. Each group will pick one camper who has done an exceptional job at camp for that day. That camper will put their name up on their corresponding group color special person board. All groups will then sing some songs together until it is time to dismiss for the day.
